Mercedes-Benz Charging Network Expansion
If you’ve been waiting to make the switch to an electric vehicle—also known as an EV—when public charging station access improves, get ready to start shopping for a new EQS or EQE because Mercedes-Benz is starting a public charging station network expansion in the last part of 2023. Find out the exciting changes that are in store for Mercedess-Benz EV owners in the Yonkers and New Rochelle areas with Pepe Auto Group.
2023: First Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Station Set to Open
The first move in the Mercedes-Benz charging network expansion will start with the opening of the first Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Station in North America during the fourth quarter of the year. This charging station, like all upcoming Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charger stations, will be equipped with CCS1 and NACS plugs. The goal by the end of the decade is to create over 10,000 charging points that are equipped to be compatible with multiple makes of EVs.
2024: Mercedes-Benz Drivers to Get Access to Tesla Superchargers
Because building so many hubs will take time, Mercedes-Benz and Tesla have partnered to give Mercedes-Benz drivers access to the Tesla Supercharger network of over 12,000 charging stations. The Tesla Supercharger information will be integrated into Mercedes me Charge, our proprietary charging service, which already includes over 90,000 charging points. You’ll be able to locate and pay for charging time at Tesla Superchargers through Mercedes me Charge, and the Tesla charging stations will be in Navigation with Electric Intelligence, so no matter how far you venture from Stamford, you’ll be able to easily navigate to a Tesla Supercharger.
2025: Mercedes-Benz to Integrate North American Charging Standard in EV Line-Up
Charger accessibility’s the name of the EV game. Not only are thousands of chargers being added to the Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Network, but we’re also changing the way Mercedes-Benz charges. By 2025 Mercedes-Benz EVs will meet the North American Charging Standard. This means that, not only will you have access to the largest charging network in the world, but you’ll know that your EV and the charger are compatible. Mercedes-Benz will be the first German auto maker to adopt these standards that will allow access to even more charging opportunities.
