New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Redesign

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2024 E-Class, which combines reworked styling from the previous year and new technology to help redefine what a luxury sedan brings to consumers. If you’re a Yonkers Mercedes-Benz fan, we’ve got all the details on this upgraded model lineup. 

An Exterior Refresh

The exterior styling of the 2024 E-Class benefits from a revamp, which Mercedes says is a “cab-backward” design. Up front is a new grille, which gets a new gloss-black panel; an illuminated grille surround is optional for all versions of the new E-Class lineup. The standard LED headlights can be upgraded with the automaker’s Digital Light technology, which allows them to project warning symbols and auxiliary markings onto the road. The rear of the car gets new two-section LED taillights that feature the Mercedes star. 

A Minimalist Tech-Oriented Interior

The interior of the 2024 E-Class has a more minimalist look than the outgoing model’s, but it comes with a number of features that are lifted from other Mercedes models of late. The dashboard is dominated by the MBUX Superscreen system, which houses up to three screens under one piece of glass. The driver gets a fully digital instrument cluster, while the large central screen appears to float in its bezel. An optional passenger screen that is part of the MBUX Premium Plus Package allows the front passenger to stream media content and uses auto-dimming technology to reduce distraction for the driver. When the screen is not equipped, a separate trim piece takes its place.

A Mild-Hybrid Engine Lineup

Performance for the 2024 E-Class comes from a pair of mild-hybrid engines. The base E350 4Matic variant is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the E450 4Matic gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 hp and 369 lb-ft. Both engines use a 17-kilowatt electric motor that helps boost torque by 148 lb-ft. A nine-speed automatic transmission and AWD come standard, with no plans for releasing a RWD version or alternative for now. An optional rear-axle steering system helps sharpen up the E-Class’s handling behavior and reduces the car’s turning radius. No specific details were released regarding AMG versions, but that could change in the near future 

Pricing and Release Date

As of now, no pricing information has been released for the 20024 E-Class lineup. However, New Rochelle drivers can expect the new model to go on sale later this year.
